Organist &
Director of Music
Alden Wright oversees Good Shepherd’s music program, including its professional choir, chorister program, the organ, and the planning of music to support and enrich the liturgy. Alden most recently served in a similar capacity at Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, N.Y. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., where he obtained his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in organ performance. Alden also spent a year as Organ Scholar at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall (U.K.) under Director of Music Christopher Gray from 2021-2022. While studying at Eastman, he held assistant positions at Christ Episcopal Church and Third Presbyterian Church, both in Rochester. An accomplished solo performer, was the winner of the 2019 Arthur Poister National Competition in Organ Playing, and earned the prestigious Performer’s Certificate while at Eastman. He is a native of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Renee Barrick
Parish Administrator
Parish Administrator Renee Barrick’s first career was as a church musician, organist, and choral director. After earning her Master’s degree in organ from the Juilliard School, she became Director of Music at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola (RC) in New York City, where she directed a full choir of men and girls. Later, her path led to a second musical career with The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Department of Musical Instruments, where she programmed, produced, and occasionally played for concerts for museum patrons, departmental friends groups, and the general public. She coordinated all the administrative details and logistics for more than 25 concerts per season, as well as the landmark special exhibition “The Violins of Guarneri del Gesù,” which featured 25 Guarneri violins lent by owners around the world, including Itzhak Perlman, Isaac Stern, and Yehudi Menuhin.
Renee took early retirement from The Met and moved to Philadelphia in 2011, where she worked as both an organist and parish administrator at several area churches. An Anglo-Catholic Episcopalian herself, she was confirmed at Saint Thomas Church in New York City in 1988.
Mary Campbell
Financial Administrator
Mary Campbell is a CPA who has had her own accounting practice in Philadelphia since January 2007. She provides her clients, primarily non-profits, with accounting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping services. Her clients also include three Episcopal parishes in Center City Philadelphia. Prior to starting her own business, Mary worked in both public accounting, specializing in auditing, as well as private industry. A native Delawarean, she received her B.S. in Accounting (cum laude) from the University of Delaware. Mary’s hobbies include the Phillies, traveling, and running. She has completed nine marathons, and is working towards a goal of running in all fifty states. She has one son, Jonathan, who lives near Atlanta, and four cats who still live at home.

Ellen T. Charry is the Margaret W. Harmon Professor Emerita of Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her books include Franz Rosenzweig on the Freedom of God, By the Renewing of Your Minds: The Pastoral Function of Christian Doctrine, Inquiring after God: Classical and Contemporary Readings (ed), God and the Art of Happiness, The Austin Dogmatics of Paul M. van Buren (ed), Sighs and Songs of Israel: A Commentary on Psalms 1-50. She is currently writing Who is the Israel of God: A Peace Proposal for Christianity and Judaism.
