Rosemont community retreat house:
A center for prayer, formation, and healing

Our retreat house is located in the beautiful former rectory next to the church, at 19 Montrose Avenue. Part of our mission is to serve and strengthen the Church by offering formation for parish musicians, clergy, seminarians, students of sacred music, laity, and all who are yearning for spiritual nourishment. As a retreat house in the Christian tradition, we invite all guests into the regular rhythm of prayer of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Rosemont.

We are a community that especially values the arts in relation to liturgy and spirituality–our programs feature contemplative encounters with literature and visual art, as well as instrumental and choral music. In addition to “program” (multi-day) retreats and “day” (single-day) retreats, we also welcome anyone who wishes to make an individual retreat in a peaceful setting where there is a regular rhythm of public prayer. We also partner with Hosts for Hospitals to provide lodging as needed in our retreat house for families seeking medical care in the greater Philadelphia region.

All who desire a place of prayer and solace are welcome here. Accommodations include seven guestrooms (including one shared room), three bathrooms, and two kitchens. Guests can spend time on the wide porch, which is heated in winter, relax in the cozy library or parlor, and walk the grounds. The retreat house is located just a seven-minute walk from the SEPTA train line, which is 30 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. Restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. All guests are invited to participate in the Daily Office (Morning and Evening Prayer) at the Church of the Good Shepherd, as well as attend Masses during the week. We hope you will choose to bless us with presence and make a retreat here.
