Psalms are the most cherished documents in the Bible. Lent is a season for studying the penitential psalms. A twentieth or twenty-first century translation is best.

Presenter(s): Ellen T. Charry is the Margaret W. Harmon Professor Emerita of Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her books include Franz Rosenzweig on the Freedom of God, By the Renewing of Your Minds: The Pastoral Function of Christian Doctrine, Inquiring after God: Classical and Contemporary Readings (ed), God and the Art of Happiness, The Austin Dogmatics of Paul M. van Buren (ed), Sighs and Songs of Israel: A Commentary on Psalms 1-50.
