Kyle Babin

Father Kyle Babin is the 12th Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He previously served as Assistant Rector of Saint Mark’s Church, Locust Street, in Philadelphia, and as Assistant Rector of St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley in Malvern, Pennsylvania. A native of Texas, Father Kyle served as director of music and organist in a number of parishes before discerning a call to ordained ministry. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree (summa cum laude) from Rice University, a Master of Music degree from Yale University, with a certificate from the Institute of Sacred Music, a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Manhattan School of Music, and a Master in Divinity degree (cum laude) from Virginia Theological Seminary, where he was co-recipient of the Charles and Janet Harris award for demonstrated academic excellence and leadership ability. From 2017 to 2019, Father Kyle served as Director of Choral Music at St. James School, and he is an active member of the Association of Anglican Musicians. In his spare time, he loves reading, traveling, learning about historic buildings, cooking, photography, and walking his Cocker Spaniel, Beau.
JACK WARREN BURNAM
INTERIM Organist &
Director of Music
Jack Warren Burnam resides in Wilmington, Delaware, where he has pursued an active career as a choral conductor, teacher, organist, accompanist, and composer for over 50 years. A number of his compositions and arrangements appear in the Hymnal 1982, the supplemental hymnal Wonder, Love and Praise, and several other hymnals and supplements.
Previous positions in which he served, all in the Wilmington area, include Choirmaster and Organist of Immanuel Church on the Green, New Castle; Immanuel Church, Highlands; Music Director and Organist of Congregation Beth Emeth; Director of Choral Activities at Tower Hill School; and Artistic Director and Conductor of the chamber chorus CoroAllegro.
Jack holds degrees in sacred music from Houghton College (NY) and Catholic University of America. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, and holds the AGO Associate and Choirmaster certificates. He is also an active member and past president of the Association of Anglican Musicians.
Renee Barrick
Parish Administrator

Parish Administrator Renee Barrick’s first career was as a church musician, organist, and choral director. After earning her Master’s degree in organ from the Juilliard School, she became Director of Music at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola (RC) in New York City, where she directed a full choir of men and girls. Later, her path led to a second musical career with the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Department of Musical Instruments, where she programmed, produced, and occasionally played for concerts for museum patrons, departmental friends groups, and the general public. She coordinated all the administrative details and logistics for more than 25 concerts per season, as well as the landmark special exhibition “The Violins of Guarneri del Gesù,” which featured 25 Guarneri violins lent by owners around the world, including Itzhak Perlman, Isaac Stern, and Yehudi Menuhin.
Renee took early retirement from the Met and moved to Philadelphia in 2011, where she worked as both an organist and parish administrator at several area churches. An Anglo-Catholic Episcopalian herself, she was confirmed at Saint Thomas Church in New York City in 1988.
Mary Campbell

Mary Campbell is a CPA who has had her own accounting practice in Philadelphia since January 2007. She provides her clients, primarily non-profits, with accounting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping services. Her clients also include three Episcopal parishes in Center City Philadelphia. Prior to starting her own business, Mary worked in both public accounting, specializing in auditing, as well as private industry. A native Delawarean, she received her B.S. in Accounting (cum laude) from the University of Delaware. Mary’s hobbies include the Phillies, traveling, running, and pet-sitting Beau, the parish’s honorary cocker spaniel in residence. She has completed nine marathons, and is working towards a goal of running in all fifty states. She has one son, Jonathan, who lives near Atlanta, and four cats who still live at home.

Ellen T. Charry is the Margaret W. Harmon Professor Emerita of Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her books include Franz Rosenzweig on the Freedom of God, By the Renewing of Your Minds: The Pastoral Function of Christian Doctrine, Inquiring after God: Classical and Contemporary Readings (ed), God and the Art of Happiness, The Austin Dogmatics of Paul M. van Buren (ed), Sighs and Songs of Israel: A Commentary on Psalms 1-50. She is currently writing Who is the Israel of God: A Peace Proposal for Christianity and Judaism.
